News Synopsis

Muralikrishnan B, who was company's Chief Operational Officer (COO), has been promoted as the President of Xiaomi India.
Muralikrishnan B has been promoted to President of Xiaomi India's operations, the global tech business announced in a statement. His new position will take effect on August 1. The statement added that Muralikrishnan will be in charge of daily operations, services, public affairs, strategic projects, and will continue to work to strengthen the company's commitment to the "Make in India" and "Digital India" initiative.

He has been Xiaomi India's Chief Operating Officer since 2018. He is an IIM-Calcutta alumni with more than 25 years of expertise in the consumer technology sector. He has played a key role in the expansion of the brand in areas such as offline sales, service, and operations.

The company claimed that under his direction, it has had robust growth across all categories, significantly scaled its organisational capabilities, execution machinery, and established a strong foothold in the offline retail sector. Alvin Tse was appointed General Manager of Xiaomi last month, and Manu Kumar Jain was promoted to Group Vice President of the company after spending seven years in India.

Since Jain's departure, Raghu Reddy and Sameer BS Rao have taken over as Xiaomi India's chief business and financial officers, respectively. "They have been leading the India business fairly independently and will continue to be a strong driving force behind the brand," the company had said in a statement.
