News Synopsis

T20 World Cup is a tournament that is held after every two years. The tournament was delayed due to the ongoing pandemic, but the schedule for T20 World Cup 2021 is out and everyone is excited about the tournament. T20 World Cup 2021 will be held in UAE and Oman and BCCI will host the event. It has been held 6 times in the past and here are the teams who have claimed the title of "World Champion" so far. 

The first team to win the title of winners under this tournament is India. India won the T20 World Cup in 2007 under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The final match was played between India and Pakistan and India won the match and the title for the World champion. 

Pakistan Won the tournament in 2009 after finishing as runner-up in 2007. Pakistan played against Sri Lanka and won the match with one of the best bowling units. The event took place in England and with this Pakistan also won the T20 World Cup, 2009. 

In 2010, England compete with Australia in the T20 World Cup finale and beat them in the game, with this England became the first Non-Asian team to win the trophy. England lost to West Indies in their first game but won the trophy by keep on winning the rest of the games.

In 2012, West Indies won the trophy by beating Sri Lanka in the final match, not only did they won the match and tournament, but they also set some of the best world records for T20 games. West Indies again won the title in 2016 that was the last T20 World Cup Tournament and is currently holds the title for the champions of the T20 World Cup. West Indies is the only team that has won the title twice. 

Sri Lanka won the tournament in 2014, after losing to West Indies in 2012. Sri Lanka defeated India in the finale and won the title for the Champions in 2014. In the whole series, Sri Lanka lost only one match which was held against England.
