News Synopsis

The BSE (formerly Bombay Stock Exchange) and NSE (National Stock Exchange of India) will be closed on Friday, October 15, in observance of Dussehra. The equities and equity derivatives segments, as well as the Securities Lending and Borrowing (SLB) division, will be decommissioned. Commodity markets will be closed in the morning session on October 15. As expected, the regular trading session will take place in the evening session. For the sixth consecutive session, the Sensex and Nifty closed at an all-time high on Thursday, October 14. The BSE Sensex closed above 61,000 for the first time. The top gainers were HDFC Bank, PowerGrid, ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, and NTPC. Among the laggards were TCS, HCL Tech, Bajaj Finance, Asian Paints, and Bharti Airtel.
