The West Bengal government has won the SKOCH award for "ease of doing business," said Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee. She said the state was chosen to receive an honor for several initiatives taken by the state government.

Expressing happiness over the award, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee expressed her happiness about the award through a tweet on Thursday, saying that West Bengal is on the top national level in 'Ease of Doing Business' in the SKOCH report. The 'Star of Governance' Scotch Award is being presented to us on 18th June in New Delhi.

"We are pleased to announce that West Bengal is ranked number one in the country for "Ease of Doing Business" in SKOCH's state of governance report 2021. The "Star of Governance" SKOCH Award will be presented to us in New Delhi on June 18th, "Banerjee tweeted on Wednesday.

This award is given to initiatives such as launching about 100 new online services, reducing and rationalizing about 500 business-related industry compliance efforts, and developing department-wise dashboards, She added. The state recently received the SKOCH Award for Education.
