News Synopsis

Russian President Vladimir Putin blamed the West for the impending global food and energy crisis on Friday and offered for the safe passage of ships exporting grain from Ukraine to pass safely if mines are removed from the waters.

Of course, now we are seeing what is happening in the global food market, an attempt to transfer responsibility for emerging problems in this market to Russia, he told Russian TV. Putin also said that Western sanctions on Russia would only worsen global markets, reduce yields and push prices up, as reported by state news agency Tass.

He blamed short-sighted European policies for lack of investment in alternatives to traditional energy supplies and rising prices, as inflation was due to an unprecedented dollar printing press during the coronavirus pandemic.

President Putin promised that Russia would not attack grain transport if the body of water was decided, suggesting that it could be manufactured from other countries such as the Ukrainian port of Berdyansk or other countries, such as Belarus. Berdyansk is under Russian occupation.
