News Synopsis

Viz.ai has raised $100 million in a Series D funding round at a $1.2 billion valuation. The pace at which new companies add to the Israeli unicorn list is significantly slower in 2022 than last year, but Thursday's announcement by Viz.ai also stands out in its scope.

The company is developing an AI-powered platform for disease detection and care coordination that has already been used in more than 1,000 hospitals and serves millions of patients. For the past year, Viz.ai has launched an AI-driven solution for aortic disease, pulmonary embolism, and cerebral aneurysms, with 510,000 pending for subdural hematoma.

The Series D funding round was led by Tiger Global and Insight Partners. The round also included early supporters of the company, including Scale Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, Threshold, Google Ventures, Sozo Ventures, CRV and Susa. The last round of Viz.ai took place last March when it raised $ 71 million. The company has raised a total of $ 250 million so far.

The startup operates in San Francisco, Tel Aviv, Portugal and Amsterdam, with its team growing from 180 to more than 350 over the past year. It is planning to grow its team to nearly 200 people over the next 12 months.
