News Synopsis

Victoria's Secret brings its beauty business to Amazon marking the first major collaboration for the lingerie company to sell its products with other retailers. The company said that with its launch around 120 different products will be available on a Victoria’s Secret “storefront” on Amazon.

Greg Unis, Chief Executive Officer of Victoria's Secret beauty business, aims to grow the product over time based on what the customers are looking for and that could eventually lead to some additions to the company's bras, lingerie, and loungewear, but Victoria's Secret has no short-term plans to do so.

At the same time, retailers including Nike and Ralph Lauren that have driven closely into wholesale are looking to cut back in a bid to regain manipulate over pricing and profits. But the consensus appears to be that a few wholesale is higher than none at all.

The deal with Amazon is expected to take Victoria's Secret's beauty business to new heights. Customers can now find beauty salons at every branch of the retail store.

Still, Victoria's Unis sees the e-commerce giant as the retailer's best partner and wise next step. He said it was an opportunity for Victoria's to raise awareness of beauty brands that are still "relatively low" compared to its lingerie.
