Vedantu slashes course costs as Offline Learning Returns

News Synopsis

The Chief Executive Officer and founder of popular edtech startup VedantuVamsi Krishan said that the edtech unicorn Vedantu has been focussing on adding new languages and aiming to reduce the prices of its courses by at least 70% as offline education centers reopen and demand for online education declines. In an interview, Vamsi Krishna said, “At Vedantu we had been working on how to bring the prices low so education is affordable for everyone. Our one-year long-term course for grade 6 to 12 which was earlier in the range of Rs 22,000-25,000 a year will now be available for Rs 5,000 with the use of augmented interactive live classes.”

The Ed-tech startup’s latest service. Ai Live classes provide an interactive platform backed by technology at Rs 5,000 annually. It makes use of artificial intelligence, voice synthesis, and content development to reduce the cost. On Thursday, Vedantu in a statement informed that Ai Live interactive classes will be available for standard 6 to 12 curriculums for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), and Maharashtra Boards, along with competitive exams such as Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
