Vaccination Update: India Hit The 1 Billion Mark

Covid-19 hit India massively, especially as the second wave hit us, recovery merely relied on an ounce of hope but India made a comeback, through the highly effective vaccination drive. Vaccination started in January, and the first vaccination was given on 16 January. It took 278 days to hit the milestone of 1 Billion jabs since the start of vaccination in January.
30% of our eligible population that is 291 million citizens have been fully vaccinated while 707 million have had the first dose. India aims to fully vaccinate about a billion people by the end of 2021 but experts say the drive needs to pick up pace further to meet the target. This milestone makes India the second country to reach the one billion mark after China crossed who crossed the mark of 1 billion in June.
