News Synopsis

The United States of America has become the 101st country to join the International Solar Alliance on Wednesday. US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, John Kerry has said that the country is happy to join the International Solar Alliance under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The USA has planned to join the alliance by 2016 but during the Trump Administration, it was put on hold.

The International Solar Alliance is an alliance of 124 countries, including most of the sunshine countries. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi launched it at the India Africa Summit in Paris in 2015. The alliance aims at the utilization of solar power
