News Synopsis

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine is getting worse with each passing day. Several civilians have lost their lives and many have been seriously injured. The normal life of civilians in the war conflict region has been seriously disrupted. To aid the civilians, the tech community plans to find new ways to help them. A tech professional living in Ukraine Polina Boichuk's life has been changed dramatically, who was until a week ago was organising a technology-awards ceremony in Ukraine. She while speaking to a news channel said: "It's awful. This can't be happening - me, my family, my friends are all sitting in the basements around the country." Technology companies now have united to devise plans to help the war effort. Ms. Boichuk further said: "We don't think of tech conferences but only the safety and independence of our country. All the tech companies and start-ups that were nominated for our project are fighting on the cyber-front now." Stepan Veselovskyi, chief executive of Lviv IT Cluster said: "Before the war, we were a business organisation - but now we have transformed into a volunteer organisation. Everyone has become a volunteer. Anyone who has a car is taking supplies to other cities, at their own risk."
