News Synopsis

The United Arab Emirates has made significant changes to its passport rules. Under the new guidelines, now, people with only one name, i.e., their name recorded in the passport is only one word or letter, will not be allowed to enter the country. According to the notification Air India Express and Air India, referring to the latest UAE guidelines, "No passport holder with only one-word name or surname will be allowed to enter the UAE, and the passenger INAD will be considered." According to the notification dated November 21, visas will not be issued to such passengers. If tickets have been published earlier, they will be treated as INADs by the immigration authorities. These guidelines will be implemented with immediate effect.

The UAE is a constitutional union of seven emirates, including Dubai. The city of Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Permanent visa holders of the UAE will be allowed to travel. For this, they have to get the passport updated by writing the same name in both the first and last name columns. On the other hand, Indigo has said in its statement that if a passenger needs more information than this, he can get detailed information by visiting the website. According to media reports, many people face problems as soon as the UAE government makes the new announcement.
