U.K. Internet Phone Providers Face Cyber Attack

Several members of Industry Body Comms Council UK have been targeted by Distributed Denial of Service in the past weeks. This has caused a threat to the whole industry. These attacks were made to make it offline or to make it inaccessible. It was made possible even after the technology against these attacks has improved a lot. 

The number of firms affected by this attack is still unclear. Comms Council UK has also said that they have never seen anything like this before. They also said that they are aware of the problems and it has become even more urgent as the numerous providers have received the threats already. The NCSC is aware of the issue and is trying to come up with different ways to support the affected companies.
