News Synopsis

Twitter Inc. says it will soon be hosting a staff town hall featuring the latest board member and largest shareholder, Elon Musk, giving staff the opportunity to ask billionaire questions directly.

The chief executive officer, Parag Agrawal said in a company-wide email that the AMA session will be for employees to address their questions to Mr Musk and Twitter leadership about this week’s development.

Tesla CEO and wealthiest person in the world, Musk, announced on Monday that he had acquired a 9.2% stake in a social media company. Twitter said the next day that Musk would be appointed to the board of directors.

With over 81 million followers, Musk has long been one of Twitter's most prominent users and sometimes one of the toughest critics. A self-proclaimed "absolutist of free speech," Musk publicly encouraged the platform to accept a variety of opinions.

Elon Musk has submitted generally relevant securities forms to activist investors, and has said that he does not has any intention or present plans to force a merger or sale, shake up the board or change the company's dividend or share-buyback policy.
