Turkey and the United Arab Emirates have pledged to strengthen cooperation in various areas by increasing opportunities for mutual investment.

At a joint press conference with UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Istanbul, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said, “We are working with all our institutions to improve our relations in a broad spectrum from Trade to agriculture, from the defense industry to health and tourism.”

Turkey and the United Arab Emirates are also considering ways to cooperate in third countries, and are working on a "very important" transportation project to connect the Gulf region and Europe via Iraq, according to reports.

The Turkish minister also said that both the countries have agreed to sign a comprehensive trade agreement later this year. According to Cavusoglu, trade volume between the two countries reached $8 billion in 2021 and is expected to reach the $10 billion target in the near future.

The Minister of the United Arab Emirates emphasized the importance of renewable energy and said the two countries should strengthen their cooperation in the area of ​​CO2 reduction.
