Trump Administration Launches New ‘Gold Card’ Visa, Here’s How It Differs From Green Card

Former US President Donald Trump launched a new visa program called the ‘Trump Gold Card’ on Wednesday at the White House, in the presence of leading business figures. This initiative is being hailed as a major immigration move by the Trump administration, designed to attract investors and global talent to the United States. Trump claimed it is significantly better than the Green Card and asserted that it would bring both capital and skilled professionals to strengthen the US economy.

Strategy to Attract High-Value Investors

According to Trump, the Gold Card program is specifically designed for foreign investors and entrepreneurs who want to bring their capital, business, and talent to the US. He stated that this will create new opportunities for American industries, provide companies with skilled employees, and give a major boost to the country’s economic growth.

Trump also indicated that the program could benefit areas long lacking foreign experts. “Many talented young individuals from countries like India, China, or France had to return home after completing their studies, but now companies can retain them in the US,” he said.

Gold Card Website Now Live

President Trump announced that the official Gold Card website is now live, and applications have opened. Foreign nationals can now apply online for this special visa. The most important requirement to obtain the Gold Card is a $1 million contribution (approximately ₹10 crore) to the US Treasury. In return, applicants receive permanent residency, allowing them to live and work in the United States.

How It Differs From the Green Card

Trump claimed the Gold Card not only offers faster processing than the Green Card but also provides additional benefits for businesses. Companies can directly sponsor qualified employees, avoiding long visa waits. Trump jokingly noted that companies like Apple would be thrilled by this announcement. He mentioned that Tim Cook had been discussing this matter with him for a long time, and tech companies would find it a significant relief.

Billions of Dollars to US Treasury

According to Trump, the Gold Card is not just a visa program but also a major source of revenue for the US economy. He expects the initiative to bring billions of dollars to the US Treasury, providing the nation with new economic strength.
