News Synopsis

The Kashmir Files released on March 11th has become the talk of the town lately. The Kashmir Files produced under the banner of Zee studios is based on the Kashmir Insurgency in 1990 and showcases the plight of Kashmiri Pandits. The film directed by Vivek Agnihotri is posting great numbers at the Box Office. Despite several controversies and minimal promotion, the film is doing pretty well on the screen. This weekend, its collections registered phenomenal growth as it earned a staggering Rs. 15.10 crore on Sunday. The film earned Rs. 3.55 crore on its very first day. Its collection rose to Rs. 8.5 crore on Saturday. The Screen Count of the film has also been increased to from 2000 owing to the increase in demand. The film earned Rs. 2.15 crore outside India. Popular trade analyst Taran Adarsh while informing the collection of The Kashmir Files tweeted: "Limited promotions, Non-holiday release, Mighty opponent [#RadheShyam], Limited screen count [Fri 630+] #TheKashmirFiles emerges triumphant, despite so many odds. #India screen count on Day 3 [Sun]: 2000. Will cross lifetime biz of #TheTashkentFiles in 3 days (sic)." The Film stars Veteran Bollywood actors Anupam Kher and Mithun Chakraborty. Other than Mr. Kher and Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi, Chinmay Mandlekar also plays a pivotal role in the movie.
