Texas is suing to stop one of the Biden Administration's major efforts to safeguard access to abortion medicine, claiming that an HHS Pharmacy guidance seeks to enforce outdated federal abortion rights.

The state of Texas claimed in its complaint that the administration's "Pharmacy Mandate" breached both federal and state law by requiring local pharmacies to provide "abortion-inducing drugs." The action was filed in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas.

According to the Office for Civil Rights 2022 advice, pharmacists are not allowed to discriminate in their services since they are receivers of government money like Medicare and Medicaid. Trying to clarify that pregnancy discrimination is protected by federal civil rights laws the agency's press release announcing its advice sets up a clash for states seeking to limit access to abortion drugs under their own legal frameworks.

The case is one of many that have been filed in response to the Supreme Court's decision in Dobbs V. Jackson Women's Health Organization to remove federal abortion rights.

According to the complaint, Texas believes that Dobbs "allows states to restrict abortions even when they are induced through the use of Mifepristone."

Texas a top player and others have accused the Biden administration of starting a fight to protect reproductive freedom in the US while individual states implement varying degrees of local limitations.

The Biden Administration is trying to intimidate every pharmacy in America by threatening to withdraw federal funding, according to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. "The Biden Administration understands that it has no legal power to implement its extreme abortion agenda," he stated.

Texas state passed a new law that prohibits abortion completely within the state. The law was passed earlier in September and has become a topic of much public outcry due to the right reasons. Women’s rights activists and feminists have taken to the streets to protest against the laws. Planned Parenthood, a US-based NGO that offers sexual health advice, had filed a petition challenging the law but the court put a hold on it too. Thankfully they have taken into the request of US President Joe Biden and have put a hold on the law till its legality is proved in a court of law.

The new abortion laws completely go against the whole feminist movement which gives women a right and autonomy over their bodies. Having a child shouldn’t be anyone else’s decision except for the woman's because it is ultimately her body that will go through many changes. That’s why the new state law caused a huge public outcry who claimed that the law goes against women’s constitutional rights and takes away the rights they have on their bodies. Their argument stands true as having a child requires women to undergo many changes, which is why having a child should be completely left to the woman. No one should be forced to have a kid. Period!
