News Synopsis

Recently, one of the leading electric vehicles manufacturers- Tesla inaugurated its Gigafactory in the capital of Germany, Berlin. This is also Tesla’s first Gigafactory in Europe. This eventually increase the presence of Tesla in Europe’s EV car market. Investors of the company are also delighted with this move of Tesla. Chief Executive Officer of Tesla, Elon Musk first announced the establishment of a new factory in Europe in the year 2019. It is expected that Tesla’s latest Gigafactory will annually roll out 5,00,000 electric vehicles. Tesla was planning to inaugurate this factory last year but it didn’t go down as planned by the EV carmaker because of various reasons including the pandemic, supply chain disruptions, and environmental issues. Before the inauguration of the Berlin factory, Tesla was manufacturing its vehicles in its manufacturing facilities situated in Nevada, New York, and Shanghai in China. It has been reported that the demand for Electric Vehicles has significantly increased in recent times in Europe. This new manufacturing plant will certainly ease some demand pressure at the production facilities in the US and China. Tesla is also planning to open its fifth factory in Austin, Texas, where it also intends to set up its headquarters as well.
