Tesla agrees to disable ‘Passenger Play’ while driving

News Synopsis

Tesla has been facing multiple issues due to its in-car gameplay feature, Passenger Play. Recently, an investigation has been launched by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to check up on the game, after a complaint was filed by a Tesla owner saying the feature does not give out any warning about the use of the game while driving.

According to a report in The New York Times, Tesla has directly contacted the NHTSA directly. Tesla has claimed that the updated software will disable the Passenger Play, while the car is in motion. NHTSA has said in its inquiry that the in-car gameplay may display the driver which can increase the risk of a crash. 

The feature that was already available in the car, under which the user was allowed to play games while the car was in parking. But after an update this year, one was allowed to play the game even when the car was in motion.
