News Synopsis

By the end of 2024, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) intends to increase its presence in Illinois by adding 1,200 new positions. This investment in the neighborhood's economy is supported by a pledge to quicken STEM outreach efforts in nearby schools so that 25% more students and instructors are reached.

TCS employs more than 3,000 people from Illinois, 1,100 of whom joined the company in the past five years. One of the 30 TCS locations in the US is located in Naperville, where TCS workers assist in the digital transformation and expansion of companies that are important to the Illinois economy, like United Airlines and Walgreens Boots Alliance.

According to Governor JB Pritzker, “I am thrilled that TCS will be expanding their footprint in the Land of Lincoln—with over a thousand jobs being added over the next two years,”  The following generation of Illinoisans will be ready for the cutting-edge occupations of the future thanks to their STEM Education Initiatives, he said, jobs that will turn our state into the leading tech hub in the country.

For more than 50 years, TCS has operated in the US. To digitally transform and expand its operations, TCS collaborates with nearly half of the Fortune 500 organisations. The business is the second-largest employer of IT services talent in the nation, having hired 512 graduates of Illinois colleges and institutions during the past five years.

The chairman of TCS's North American operations, Suresh Muthuswami, stated, “Our expansion in Illinois is driven by companies that use these obstacles as an opportunity to transform themselves and capture growth. They are investing to overcome today’s challenges and become more resilient for tomorrow. TCS is attracting the brightest talent in cloud computing, AI, cybersecurity and other technologies to help them become future-ready enterprises.
