News Synopsis

Tata Motors' SUV sales over Mahindra and Kia have decreased in recent months. The battleground in the passenger vehicle market has shifted to SUVs due to changing buyer tastes and other favorable factors. SUV sales have surpassed car sales for the second month in a row. Total SUV sales in the September quarter were 367,457 units, compared to 343,939 units for cars. Tata sold 31,303 automobiles in the June quarter, compared to 42,570 units sold by Mahindra and 42,176 units sold by Kia. Tata's new compact SUV Punch has the potential to be a game-changer for the firm, propelling it to the top of the sales rankings. The Punch will be officially unveiled on October 18, along with its pricing. Following in the footsteps of Nexon, Tata Motors' new SUV Punch has obtained a 5-star safety rating, which will help the company sell the car efficiently in areas such as the South. The battle is set to heat up even further in the coming months as more competitors enter the SUV segment.
