  • Empowered AWD

Customers can choose between Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) setups.

Battery Options, Range, and Performance

The Harrier EV is offered with two battery options:

  • 65kWh battery pack with a single rear motor generating 235 bhp

  • 75kWh battery pack with a dual motor AWD setup, where the front motor adds 156 bhp, while the rear continues to produce 235 bhp

The system delivers a combined torque output of 504Nm, making it one of the most powerful EVs in its class. The AWD variant can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds when using boost mode.

In terms of range, the Harrier EV can travel up to 627 km on a single charge (claimed figure), making it ideal for long-distance commuting and intercity travel.

Charging Capabilities: Fast and Flexible

Tata offers two charging options for the Harrier EV:

  1. 7.2kW AC charger – Charges the battery from 10% to 100% in about 10.7 hours

  2. 120kW DC fast charger – Charges from 20% to 80% in just 25 minutes

These flexible options make the EV suitable for both home charging and rapid top-ups during road trips.

Advanced Features and Premium Cabin Experience

Inside, the Harrier EV carries forward the layout of the ICE Harrier but introduces a more modern white and grey colour scheme. Key highlights of the cabin include:

  • 14.5-inch Harman infotainment system with Samsung Neo QLED tech

  • 10-inch fully digital driver’s display

  • Illuminated Tata logo on four-spoke steering wheel

  • Panoramic sunroof

  • Second-row 'Boss Mode' seat with electric adjustment

  • Ambient lighting

  • Drive and terrain modes

  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging features

These features position the Harrier EV as a tech-forward, comfort-rich SUV, appealing to modern EV buyers looking for both performance and luxury.

Safety First: Equipped with Level-2 ADAS and More

Safety is another area where Tata has made no compromises. The Harrier EV comes equipped with:

  • Seven airbags

  • 540-degree surround view system

  • Auto Park Assist

  • ABS and EBD

  • Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems)

These safety features ensure enhanced driver and passenger protection, making it one of the safest EVs in its segment.

Tata’s 50% EV Market Share Goal

Tata Motors is aiming to maintain a 50% market share in India’s EV segment over the medium to long term. The strong initial response to the Harrier EV strengthens its position in a highly competitive space.

To meet growing demand and fend off competition from brands like Hyundai, Mahindra, and BYD, Tata Motors plans to invest up to ₹35,000 crore (approx. $4.1 billion) over the next five years.

Upcoming models in Tata’s EV pipeline include the Safari EV, Sierra EV, and the futuristic Avinya range, all of which will further expand Tata’s already industry-leading EV portfolio.

Final Thoughts: A Game-Changer for India’s EV Market

The Tata Harrier EV combines aggressive styling, premium features, strong performance, and impressive range, making it a compelling choice in the electric SUV space. With more than 10,000 bookings in a day and production already underway, Tata Motors looks set to redefine the EV landscape in India once again.
