According to a news agency, Tata Group-owned Infiniti Retail, which operates the 'Croma' chain of stores, is planning to create 100 exclusive Apple stores in India.

“Tata has already started discussions with premium malls and high streets for space,” according to a retail consultant quoted in the paper.

The news comes as Apple plans to open its first company-owned flagship store in India in the March quarter in Mumbai.

The Tata Group adds another feather to its cap by entering into new alliances and industries with this move. The group recently made headlines when it announced the merger of Air India with Vistara. The business also reportedly intends to begin producing semi-conductor chips in India in order to put the country on the global map.

Apple's first company-owned flagship shop in India is expected to open in Mumbai in the March quarter.

According to industry analysts, Apple reminded its local franchise partners that company-owned stores enhance sales for both partners and retailers.

According to CyberMedia Research (CMR), approximately 1.7 million iPhones were sold in India between July and September.

Apple is focusing on increasing sales in India and plans to expand its manufacturing capacity.

Tata Group is an international Indian conglomerate with holdings in a variety of industries, including aviation, steel, power, chemicals, and information technology. Jamsetji Tata started it in 1868 and it is one of India's greatest private-sector companies.

Aside from its existing operations, the company has recently moved into renewable energy and infrastructure construction. After acquiring multiple worldwide corporations, the Tata Group achieved an international reputation.
