TANGEDCO appoints PTC India to produce 1,500 MW power

News Synopsis

PTC India has released a statement saying that the TANGEDCO has appointed it as an aggregator for a 1,500 MW five-year power procurement drive. Tamil Nadu Generation & Distribution Corporation will sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) with successful generators and power sale agreements with PTC India.

The CMD of PTC India, Rajib K Mishra has said that PTC has a long association with the TANGEDCO. He also said that they are confident that the price under the current ender would be competitive which will reduce the power procurement cost of TANGEDCO under Pilot Scheme-II. TANGEDCO 

PTC is also the aggregator under the Pilot Scheme I and Pilot Scheme-II of the Union Power Ministry. TANGEDCO has now appointed PTC for their balance requirement of power and floated 1,500 MW for five years.
