News Synopsis

Spotify, the Swedish music streaming platform, has launched a new programme that will elevate emerging podcasters around the world, including in India, and help them grow their audiences. The 'RADAR Podcasters' programme was launched in 15 global markets, including India. It takes its name and format from 'RADAR,' which promotes emerging artists.

Additionally, Spotify announced the initial list of podcasters who will be featured in the RADAR programme. The first three Indian podcasts chosen for this slate are 'Anurag Minus Verma,' 'Chumma Conversations with Satshyaa,' and 'Getting Lost with Archit and Shirin: All About Food.'

Spotify will focus on a different local language every three months in India. "For the next round of this initiative, the focus will be on Tamil, one of the fastest growing languages on Spotify in India for both music and podcasts," the company said in a statement.

Participating markets will spotlight two to three emerging creators each quarter, chosen from the millions of podcasters who use Anchor, Spotify's podcast creation platform. This programme will highlight more than 40 creators from around the world in countries where podcasting is growing. Each quarter, three up-and-coming creators will be highlighted by Spotify's Podcast team in participating markets.
