News Synopsis

Skoda Auto, a part of the Volkswagen group has said on Tuesday that its supply partner in Ukraine has decided to resume the production of wire harnesses as the carmaker works through supply bottlenecks. The announcement was made at the company’s 2021 earnings presentation.

The auto company stopped the production of one model earlier this month because of wire harnesses shortages that were caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Not only Skoda, but the auto industry has been facing multiple issues regarding supply chain and raw materials amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

A Skoda official has said at the 2021 earning presentation of the company, “ Our partner in Ukraine decided to restart the production of wire harnesses this week, with full service and full security for workers there.” The Skoda official also said that the production can be ramped up at an alternative facility.
