News Synopsis

Singapore Airlines will resume Airbus A380 Superjumbo flights to India from today. According to the airline, the flight has begun between Mumbai and Singapore, and the aircraft will also be used on the Delhi route as well.

Singapore Airlines was the first airline in the world to fly the A380 Superjumbo in October 2007. In late 2017,  the airline introduced a multi-million dollar cabin product upgrade to the A380 aircraft after a four-year extensive development program.

The General Manager of Singapore Airlines, Sy Yen Chen has said that the expansion of SIA Group’s VTL network is also perfectly timed with the re-launch of the services of the airline to Mumbai from March 14 and to Delhi in the coming months.

Earlier this month, Vaccinated Travel Lane allowed eligible travellers to enter Singapore without quarantine obligations. Previously, the service, launched on November 29, 2021, was only applicable to flights departing from Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai.

Travelling to Singapore from India for fully vaccinated travellers has become easier with some prerequisites before departure, with a valid visa, a vaccinated Travel Pass, a stay of seven consecutive days in India or a VTL country and a mandatory RT-PCR test.
