News Synopsis

The skull fossils of herbivorous dinosaurs were found at the Jameson Land in Greenland. The dinosaur is said to have a long neck with a medium-sized body and a predecessor of sauropods. The researchers have named the dinosaur Issi saaneq. The team included researchers from Portugal, Denmark, and Germany, along with the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU).

The dinosaur is named as a tribute to the Inuit language of Greenland which translates to,” Cold Bone.” The dinosaur existed on the planet 214 million years ago during the Triassic period. The discovery of these fossils is evidence of Greenlandic species of dinosaurs and also gives a better understanding of the evolutionary pathways and timeline of the dinosaurs.
