News Synopsis

On November 9, Sapphire Foods, the parent company of KFC and Pizza Hut, will begin accepting subscriptions for its initial public offering. This would be the second IPO to open in that week, following Paytm's IPO on November 8. The public offering of 1,75,69,941 equity shares is entirely an offer for sale (OFS) made by the promoters and investors.

Sapphire is one of YUM's franchisee operators in the Indian subcontinent, with revenue from operations of Rs 1,019.62 crore in FY21. As of June 2021, the company owned and operated 209 KFC restaurants in India and the Maldives, as well as 239 Pizza Hut locations. The firm's promoters, Sapphire Foods Mauritius and QSR Management Trust, own 45.52 percent and 5.83 percent of the company, respectively.
