News Synopsis

S&P 500 recorded scored its 69th record close of 2021 after a surge was seen in the US stocks. The stocks saw the jump even after Omicron weighed on the travel-related sectors.

The Santa Claus rally led by the Nasdaq has also picked up from the last week’s momentum. More profits were added to the top indexes during the trading session. The S&P 500 was up by 27% in 2021.

The investors are not much concerned about the effects of the Omicron variant on the economy as the symptoms of the variant are less severe than Delta.
