RuPay becomes the official partner of Tata IPL 2022

News Synopsis

Indian Premier League (IPL), is one of the biggest and most successful cricket tournaments in the world. Its popularity is spread worldwide. Great players from all over the world come to participate in this league. This tournament also provides a platform for young talents of India to display their caliber at the big stage. This year the IPL is set to commence on March 26th. However, there are significant changes made to the tournament this year. Two new teams- are  Lucknow Supergiants and Gujarat Titans. This has increased the total number of teams to ten. One of the major changes that happened this year is that Tata Group has become the title sponsor of the IPL. Other than these, Flagship product of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), RuPay has become the official partner of the Indian Premier League. NPCI COO Praveena Rai said, “We are delighted to partner with the BCCI for one of the most celebrated sports leagues - Indian Premier League. We believe RuPay resonates well with IPL as both brands are bringing India together. With RuPay’s venture into IPL as the official partner, we feel it is one of the best ways to define the tech-savvy, youthful, contemporary brand personality of RuPay.”
