Redmi India, a Xiaomi sub-brand, has collaborated with telecom service provider Reliance Jio to conduct live 5G network trials for the Redmi K50i. According to the company, the phone was put through several scenarios during the trial to test the capability and performance of the smartphone, "yielding positive results."
It went on to say that the results of the test will help make "5G a reality for customers" and create a complete 5G experience. The Redmi K50i will be the first Redmi device to support 12 5G bands, including n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n28a, n38, n40, n41, n77, n78.

The trial also tested the compatibility of Redmi India's latest technology with Reliance Jio's 5G network. Anuj Sharma, chief marketing officer, Xiaomi India, says, " Redmi India is committed to its philosophy of democratizing technology and making it more accessible to consumers in the country.”
According to the company, its 5G trial was conducted in an out-of-lab setting and revealed high upload and download speeds when tested for 4K streaming and cloud gaming scenarios requiring high-speed and low latency. The Redmi K50i will be available in India on July 20.
