Raj Subramanian will be the new CEO of FedEx

On Tuesday, U.S.-based multinational courier service provider, FedEx announced that Indian American Raj Subramanian would be the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company. Mr. Subramanian will be replacing Frederick W Smith. Mr. Smith will be stepping down as the CEO of the company on 1st June 2022 and he will be executive chairman after that. At Mr. Subramanian’s appointment, the Current CEO congratulated him and said: "As we look toward what’s next, I have a great sense of satisfaction that a leader of the caliber of Raj Subramaniam will take FedEx into a very successful future." FedEx was founded by Mr. Smith in the year 1971. He further told that in his new role as the executive chairman of the company he will be focusing on Board governance as well as issues of global importance, including sustainability, innovation, and public policy. Mr. Subramanian after the announcement of his appointment said: “Fred is a visionary leader and a legend of the business world. He founded one of the world’s greatest and most admired companies, and it is my honor and privilege to step into this role and build upon what he has created."
