News Synopsis

Executives working at consumer goods companies informed that quick commerce platforms which provide 10-20-minute deliveries are increasing 20-25% faster in volumes than the ones which make deliveries in four-hour or more than that.

The President of Coca-Cola, Sanket Ray,

in a statement stated, “We are seeing much higher numbers of conversion rates in quick commerce, compared to larger platforms. The strike rate of consumers ordering is definitely higher on quick commerce platforms.” Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, Dunzo, and Zepto, with micro warehouses and dark neighborhood stores, are among the companies that are leading the 10-20-minute delivery category. Interestingly, in spite of a high cash burn, the trend is increasing among consumers.

In its report of March quarter earnings, Nestle said, “E-commerce showed strong acceleration with growth being largely fuelled by new emerging formats like quick commerce.”

The Executives further told that despite smaller bill sizes on shorter-duration deliveries, volumes are rapidly increasing month-on-month than those on larger, overnight delivery platforms. While expressing his regarding these quick deliveries,

Anghsu Mallick, MD of Adani Wilmar said,

“Consumers are doing impulse, unplanned buying and the numbers are escalating fast on 10- or 20-minute delivery platforms, for categories such as staples where we operate.”
