News Synopsis

The prototype for the long-lost Apple VideoPad2 is going to be auctioned at the History and Science of Technology auction by Bonhams The VideoPad will be auctioned along with the other Apple Prototype. The estimated cost of this prototype is estimated to be $8000 to $12000.

The VideoPad was introduced between 1993 to 1995 and was way ahead of its time. It had a built-in camera for video conferencing. Even though it was canceled with Newton OS in 1997. The design was based on the concept of former CEO John Sculley. The design is said to be an early vision of the Tablet. 

The auction will also have other items like the original Apple Personal Computer along with the first-generation iPad. The auction will also have a handwritten and autographed letter that Steve Jobs wrote to his childhood best friend. The cost of the letter is estimated between $200,000 to $300,000.
