Work from home is here to stay. While businesses have adjusted to the more technological aspects of security throughout the work-from-home age, that may not be the only issue. According to cybersecurity experts at a recent panel hosted by Insider on Thursday dubbed "Cybersecurity Trends: Prepare For A More Secure Future," presented by Cisco, companies will need to create a new culture around workplace security and compliance to stay safe amid future threats.

Many business rules were not prepared to handle a new class of employees being pushed into the problems of working remotely, and this must urgently alter to keep organisations secure.

Companies will need to learn how to adapt to a new culture in the future, where policies may differ among teams, according to Carolyn Duby, Cloudera's field chief technology officer. And while there are some technical aspects to the uphill battle, creating a new security culture is at the top of the priority list.

Duby, further said, "As we look at the expansion of the remote workforce, we have to think about how we will go forward and how we will change the way that we work and the way that we train the humans because really the humans are the weak link."
