PhysicsWallah Introduces Undergraduate Residential Program in AI and Computer Science

PhysicsWallah, the latest edtech unicorn in India, has followed the footsteps of Scaler, backed by Tiger Global, by unveiling a new undergraduate residential engineering program. The four-year course will focus on Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence and is set to commence in Bengaluru from September.

With an inaugural batch of approximately 100 students, PhysicsWallah Institute of Innovation, under the leadership of Vishwa Mohan, Chief Information Officer of PhysicsWallah, and President of the institute, aims to provide a comprehensive educational experience in cutting-edge technologies.

Partnership with Leading Universities for Undergraduate Degrees

PhysicsWallah has partnered with two universities to offer undergraduate degrees to its students. Although specific details of the collaborations were not disclosed, the partnership is designed to provide students with the option to pursue a bachelor's degree in parallel with PhysicsWallah's program.

By combining experienced faculty and mentors from top companies, an industry-oriented curriculum, and relevant skill development, the institute seeks to equip students with practical knowledge and prepare them for immediate deployment in the industry.

Empowering Students for Future Opportunities

The undergraduate degree offered by PhysicsWallah will not only provide students with the necessary qualifications for further education, both in India and abroad, but also make them eligible to appear in competitive examinations.

With an emphasis on skill-building and industry-relevant training, the program aims to prepare graduates to seize diverse opportunities and excel in their chosen career paths.

Affordable Education and Placement Partnerships

The residential program comes with a price point of Rs 1.5 lakh per year, amounting to a total of Rs 6 lakh for the four-year course. To gain admission, students are required to clear an entrance exam.

Additionally, PhysicsWallah has secured placement partnerships with renowned companies such as Tata IQ, Siemens, Leadsquared, SAP, Oracle, KPMG, and Amazon, among others, promising potential job opportunities to successful graduates.

Ambitious Expansion Plans

PhysicsWallah is committed to making a significant impact in the upskilling segment. Having already placed more than 1,500 learners, with an average annual salary of Rs 22 lakh and a top salary of Rs 50 lakh, the company is poised for further growth.

With plans to enroll 300-400 students in the next two years, PhysicsWallah Institute of Innovation has an overall capacity of accommodating 500 students. The institute will also offer hostel facilities to its students, ensuring a holistic and immersive learning experience.

Harnessing the Potential of Upskilling in the Edtech Industry

With the edtech landscape witnessing a shift in demand due to the reopening of schools, colleges, and physical tuition centers, PhysicsWallah's expansion into residential undergraduate education reflects its commitment to cater to diverse learning needs. As the company invests in upskilling initiatives and opens offline institutes, it aims to align itself with the evolving education landscape, meeting the demands of a rapidly changing world.

A Look at PhysicsWallah's Growth Trajectory

Founded in 2020 by Alakh Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari, PhysicsWallah has already achieved unicorn status, raising $100 million from investors like WestBridge Capital and GSV Ventures, valuing the company at $1.1 billion.

The funds have been directed towards business expansion, branding, opening more offline learning centers, and introducing new course offerings. Furthermore, with plans to revalue itself at over $3 billion through additional fundraising, PhysicsWallah is determined to continue making a transformative impact in the edtech industry.
