News Synopsis

According to the organisers, one million tickets for the 2024 Paris Olympics will sell for 24 euros each and will be available for all 32 sports. The proposal to the IOC in Paris sets the base fare lower than the 2012 London Olympics. At the London Olympics, a 20-pound cost more than $31 ticket at the exchange rate.

A centralised global sales programme of Paris Olympic organisers calls for pricing almost half of 10 million tickets costing less than 50 euros. The ticket prices for the 2024 Paralympics, start at 15 euros and around half of the 3.4 million tickets will cost no more than 25 euros.

Tokyo organisers aimed for $800 million from ticket sales before the COVID-19 pandemic prevented people from attending nearly all of the events at the Games postponed to last year.

Paris is aiming for a revenue of 1.1 billion euros which is about 30% of the budget for ticket sales, Paris organizing committee president Tony Estanguet said. By achieving this goal, Paris ticket revenue will exceed $1 billion raised from more than 8 million tickets sold in London.
