News Synopsis

OpenAI has introduced a new year-end feature called “Your Year with ChatGPT”, giving users a personalized recap of how they interacted with ChatGPT throughout the year — similar to Spotify Wrapped.

OpenAI Launches ‘Your Year with ChatGPT’: Know Where the Feature Is Available

New Delhi: OpenAI, a major name in the world of artificial intelligence, has rolled out a new and interesting feature for users at the end of the year. The feature is called “Your Year with ChatGPT”, which shows users a glimpse of their journey with ChatGPT over the past year. It works much like Spotify Wrapped, providing a personalized annual review based on usage.

OpenAI shared details about this feature on X (formerly Twitter). According to the company, “Your Year with ChatGPT” is currently available only in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. To use it, users must install the latest version of the ChatGPT app and ensure that Chat History and Memory features are enabled.

How Does This New Feature Work?

Once the feature becomes active on a user’s account, a banner titled “Your Year with ChatGPT” appears on the home screen. Tapping it opens a story-style presentation that highlights different insights from the user’s interactions during the year.

It shows what users relied on ChatGPT for the most — whether it was content creation, brainstorming, studying, research, or problem-solving. It also awards fun digital badges. For example, users who frequently ask for creative ideas or technical help may receive titles like “Creative Debugger.”

Poems and AI Images Are Also Included

One standout aspect of the feature is that it generates a short poem and an AI-created image, both inspired by the topics the user discussed most often. OpenAI says this recap can be easily shared on social media.

Who Won’t Get Access to This Feature?

There are some limitations. OpenAI has clarified that Education, Enterprise, and Team accounts will not have access to this feature. It is available only for individual users. If an eligible user does not see the banner on their home screen, they can simply ask ChatGPT to generate their year-end recap.

This move is seen as an important step toward making ChatGPT feel more personal, highlighting how AI has become part of everyday life.

Indian Users Will Have to Wait

In today’s fast-paced world, people tend to forget things easily. This feature helps summarize their yearly conversations in one place. However, Indian users will have to wait for now. Currently, users in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand can enjoy this recap and view their AI conversations in a completely new way.
