ONGC Commissions Two Projects Costing Rs 6,000 Crore to boost Output

News Synopsis

The State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation has commissioned two projects, costing Rs 6,000 crore, to increase oil production by 7.5 million tons and gas production by 1 billion cubic meters for the life of the Mumbai High fields.

The company said in a statement that it has spent Rs Rs 3,740-crore on a state-of-the-art 8-legged water injection-cum-living quarter platform, as part of the Mumbai High South Redevelopment Phase-IV, and has spent Rs 2,292.46 crore on Cluster-8 marginal field development project at Mumbai High.

Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri dedicated two major offshore western projects to the country on April 23. He was accompanied by chairman Alka Mittal, Director O P Singh, and Director Pankaj Kumar

The Cluster 8 Marginal Field Development Project in Mumbai High has been carried out at a total cost of Rs 2,292.46 crore. The project will produce 4.38 million tonnes of oil and 0.464 BCM of gas.

These fringe fields were discovered in 2017-18 and 2018-19. The CO2 reduction system was implemented offshore for the first time as part of the project. According to the statement, oil and gas are emitted through FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offtake).
