The infections caused by the sublineage of Omicron variant BA.2 are gradually increasing in the United States. This subvariant accounts for over one-third of new Covid-19 infections in the country. Additionally, due to the ongoing allergy season, it has become to identify distinctive covid symptoms. According to this data, Last week, around 34.9 percent of new Covid-19 cases were reported because of the BA.2 variant. The data indicated that the BA.2 variant is steadily and stealthily spreading in the country. The infections almost doubled each week in February. Other than the USA, this subvariant of Covid is also wreaking havoc in European and Asian countries such as Italy, China, Hong Kong, etc. America’s top infectious disease expert, Anthony Fauci also expects that the Covid cases can increase in the coming days. However, he said that it will not be a massive surge like other variants have caused.
