News Synopsis

Omega Seiki Mobility has officially entered the electric two-wheeler segment with the launch of its first electric scooter, OSM Vextra. Priced at Rs 99,900, the scooter is positioned as a balanced offering with a strong mix of performance, range, and affordability, targeting both Indian and international markets.

Omega Seiki Mobility Launches New Electric Scooter

Omega Seiki Mobility, an Indian company with a strong presence in the electric vehicle segment, has now entered the electric two-wheeler market. The company has launched its first electric scooter, called OSM Vextra, which will be sold in India as well as international markets. The scooter is being positioned as a combination of performance, long range, and affordable pricing. It has been launched at a price of Rs 99,900.

Entry of OSM into the Electric Two-Wheeler Segment

Until now, Omega Seiki Mobility has been manufacturing electric three-wheelers and four-wheelers. The launch of Vextra is considered a major milestone for the company. In its first year, OSM aims to sell 15,000 units of the scooter, with 9,000 units allocated for the Indian market and 6,000 units for overseas sales. In India, the scooter will be available through a network of more than 200 Omega Seiki Mobility dealerships.

Battery, Range, and Charging Details

The OSM Vextra comes equipped with a 3.45 kWh LMF P IP67-rated battery. According to the company, the scooter is capable of delivering a range of more than 110 kilometres on a single charge. The battery takes around 4 hours to charge from 0 to 80 percent, while a full charge takes approximately 5 hours. This range makes it suitable for everyday commuting needs.

Motor, Speed, and Performance

The electric scooter is powered by a 3 kW BLDC hub motor. OSM Vextra has been positioned in the high-speed electric scooter segment and offers a top speed of 70 kmph. This performance level makes it suitable for city riding as well as short-distance travel in surrounding areas.

Features and Riding Modes

In terms of features, the OSM Vextra gets a 3.5-inch colour LCD display that shows essential information such as speed, battery status, and distance-to-empty. The scooter offers three riding modes – Eco, City, and Sports. Additional features include a USB charging port, CBS braking system, 12-degree gradability, AIS-156 compliant battery management system, LED lighting, and a modern, attractive design.

Manufacturing and Company Vision

The OSM Vextra will be manufactured at the company’s Faridabad-based production facility, which has an annual manufacturing capacity of 25,000 units. Speaking about the launch, Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of Omega Seiki Mobility, said that Vextra marks the company’s entry into the high-speed electric two-wheeler segment. He added that the scooter could prove to be a strong and affordable option not only for metro cities but also for customers in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.
