Old vehicles can soon be converted to EVs in Delhi

If you own a diesel vehicle more than 10 years old or a petrol vehicle that was registered more than 15 years ago in the national capital of the country -Delhi and NCR, you don’t need to worry or sell your beloved ride as you can convert it into an Electric Vehicle (EV) and continue using it. National Green Tribunal (NGT) imposed a ban on older vehicles in the national capital to curb the rising level of pollution as a high amount of pollutants are emitted by them. It made owners of these vehicles become worried about what will happen to their vehicles. This news has brought some relief to these owners who were earlier selling these vehicles to other states. Delhi’s transport department has started registering center to fit electric kit in these vehicles. According to the department, there are 1.5 lakh diesel vehicles older than 10 years and 28 lakh petrol-powered vehicles older than 15 years in the state.
