News Synopsis

Google-backed Nothing, led by former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, will manufacture all smartphones for sale in India locally, a senior company official said on Monday.

In March, the company announced plans to expand its device ecosystem beyond the audio field, starting with its entry into the smartphone business. Nothing develops its own operating system (OS) for phones (1) built on Qualcomm's Snapdragon mobile platform.

Based in the UK, the company plans to expand its product portfolio to manufacture a complete device ecosystem and aims to create an ecosystem, replacing Apple's ecosystem with connectivity products that are open to other brands. The company has been selling ear (1) audio equipment in India since August last year. The company's smartphone will be revealed on July 12th.

For the upcoming Nothing Phone (1), the company has expanded customer support in the region to more than 270 authorized service centers in more than 250 cities, providing year-round support through the Nothing India channel.
