News Synopsis

Consumer tech brand Nothing Technologies, a venture of OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, has been working on a smartphone for over a year and will announce it by next month.

According to reports, the entrepreneur unveiled the prototypes of this smartphone during meetings with several key industry executives at this week's Mobile World Congress (MWC) event in Barcelona.

All the details regarding the new device are not out yet, but according to the sources, the product has a similar design language and element of transparency, that was seen in the first product of Nothing.

Earphones released in 2021 shipped 400,000 units by the end of  January, according to a London-based hardware startup. In an interview last July, Pei pointed out that there were several different devices on the company's roadmap before the earphones were released.

Carl Pei has also said that the company has a lot of products in the pipeline. It also did a community crowdfunding round where it allocated $1.5 million to its community.
