News Synopsis

The Nothing Phone (1) is one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year. Headed by former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, the brand teases the inspiration and approach to designing the company's first smartphone.

Prior to its official launch, some leaks suggest details of Nothing Phone (1). The date hasn't been officially confirmed yet, but the latest leak suggests that Pai's company will announce Nothing Phone 1 on July 21st. The same leak also revealed price details for smartphones that are expected to be mid-range devices.

The German publication Allround PC shows that the first Nothing smartphone will arrive on July 21st. The smartphone is expected to be available at a starting price of €500 (about Rs 41,100). However, there are no details about RAM and mass storage.

According to Tom Howard, Head of Design at Nothing, modern smartphones follow the same pattern of internal component placement, which hampers creativity and innovation in this regard.

Howard, who discussed the design inspiration for Nothing Phone (1) said the brand was inspired by Massimo Vignelli's New York City subway map and how designers connected complex systems to make them look like art.
