News Synopsis

NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope was built to give the first glimpse of the universe to the world, was launched by rocket early Saturday from the Northeastern coast of South America. NASA described the telescope as the premier space science observatory of the next decade. The launch took place at the launch base of the European Space Agency in French Guiana.

The astronomers have claimed that the new telescope will provide a glimpse of the cosmos which are not seen till now. It will also give out the details of the toddler galaxies and will also capture the fainter, earlier infant galaxies.

The astronomers are also eager to study the distant galaxies, occupied by the super-massive black holes. The telescope is manufactured under a collaboration led by NASA in partnership with the European and Canadian Space Agencies, at a cost of $8.8 billion with operational expenses projected to bring the total cost to $9.66 billion.
