News Synopsis

To improve the quality of writing and fix straightforward grammar and spelling mistakes, technology giant Google has added some new Google Docs writing support features to its users. The new feature will offer a variety of stylistic and writing suggestions as users compose documents.

The company has said in its blog post, “We have added several new sensitive writing features in Google Docs, which will provide a variety of tone and style suggestions to help you create impactful documents faster.”

Suggestions are displayed as the user types, which is useful when there is a way to avoid repetitive or unwanted words, diversify the user's sentences and make sure they are using the words that are most effective for the situation.

Users can see suggestions if there is a way to compose sentences in the active voice, or if the sentences can be made more concise. This will help make the text more impactful.

Use of potentially discriminatory or inappropriate language will be flagged, along with suggestions on how to make your writing more inclusive and appropriate for your audience. The company said that it will introduce these admin controls for the remaining eligible Google Workspace editions.
