Indian apps and games have received a great deal of interest from investors, with Google Play's monthly active user base in 2021 increasing by 200% compared to 2019, Google executives said Wednesday. 

Purnima Kochikar, vice president of the Google Play partnership, announced the 2022 Appscale Academy class, stating that apps and games developed by Indian companies are also gaining viewership around the world.

The Indian games saw a 200% increase in active monthly users on Google Play as compared to 2019. Ludo King has become one of the most played games globally.

Google has launched the Appscale Academy in collaboration with the Meity Startup Hub. We have selected 100 startups from over 400 applications based on creative ideas and innovations, product quality, product scalability, and talent diversity.

The Appscale Academy program provides startups with a 6-month training program with a customized curriculum. It is designed to help companies drive high-quality apps for the global market, including  UX design, business models and monetization strategies, international expansion best practices, and data safety and security practice sessions.
